France, one year on...

I am on holiday this week in France and feeling very nostalgic as it was more or less a year ago to the day that I was out here with my family and I had the initial idea to open Magpie & Fox. At that time I didn’t have a name for the business or a premises! One year on and Magpie & Fox is now a reality and more than that we have been open for four months.

This week we have been mainly relaxing with family: eating, drinking and enjoying the sunshine. But the boutique is never far from my mind so of course I went back into Bordeaux: one of my favourite cities and where the seed of Magpie & Fox was sown. We had a celebratory drink at a pop up bar at the festival of food in the centre of Bordeaux and visited all of my favourite boutiques.

I have also found some fantastic new brands that are not back home yet so I look forward to introducing them to Magpie & Fox next summer – watch this space!

The boutiques in Bordeaux have now all gone into summer sale just like Magpie & Fox so I managed to snap up a few bargains for myself and my son. I absolutely love French clothes for children. The quality and styles are amazing.

Being over here where it all began has made me realise just how far we have come. And that has only been possible with the amazing support we have received from all our new Magpie & Fox customers as well as our family and friends. So a massive thank you to all of you and I look forward to seeing you over the coming months in the boutique when I am back.
